So here are my two favorite photos of the 15. I photographed a few different items before this one, but something about this first photo really struck me. I think I like it the best because it looks like it could be an advertisement for MaxMara. I like how the flash made the edge of the bracelet look like it was on fire, and how it illuminates the middle of the bracelet on the black table. The second photo I also liked. The pictures look very different even though they were taken about 5 seconds apart. By taking the picture from underneath the light source in the second picture you get a much better perspective on the bracelet and its surroundings. I like in the second one how the flash also had a huge reflection on the table and the bracelet. Overall, nothing too professional here, just some fun in my living room.

Hi,
ReplyDeleteYour page is great! I loved the simplicity of the perspective shots,...bracelet, ...living room. My battery went dead today,..at my idea spot for this assignment,..as it's charging I realize,, I can do this,..in my living room. Look forward to seeing your work. Diana
Your first pictures looks great. I can see what you mean by being on fire; as if ancient words would appear around the rim, like in LOTR. Also, does look very much like some form of marketing; the black background really brings out its shine.
ReplyDeleteMallory,
ReplyDeleteI think the illusion of the bracelet being a ring is in both of the shots (and like Jay it reminded me of LOTR - I was looking for the inscription ;0)). I have to say for myself I felt that the light reflection on objects other than the bracelet took the focal point away from the bracelet and it felt as if it was competing with it (wood/bracelet shot). I like how you played the lighting off of the ring in the black background shot, it does look like a ring of fire and how it looks like a beam is coming from it. Did you take other shots playing around with with diffused lighting or bouncing the flash?

Great observations Mallory on how light affected these two shots. One shows what it is for sure...in the other shot you really aren't sure if someone doesn't tell you...
ReplyDeletevery creative with the bracelet, both prespective came out really well. I must admitt I thought it was a ring!
