Here's a portrait of my friend Ryan, sadly attempting to look cool while playing the guitar.

wk10- waterstamp

here is my interpretation of a water stamp!

dodge and burn

In the first picture i used the dodge tool to add some contrast and make the dark areas in the picture stand out more. And in the second picture i focused on the dodge tool to try and add some highlights and illumination around mikeys feet. This is kind of an odd photo, and I really never knew what to do with it in the first place, but I suppose with a picture like this and how the colors turned out, all there is to do is keep doing different edits till something cool shows up!

layer one

Here is one of the first filters i did. pretty simple but still cool.

Cropping

This is a picture of a boardwalk near my aunt and uncles house. We had some nice days last week so my friends and I decided to hit the beach one last time before the winter rolls around. The top picture is the cropped version of a basic snap shot I took. Its really amazing how differently pictures can look after being cropped!

Landscapes

Here are some of my favorite landscape shots for this week. My best friend and I drove across and around the Golden Gate bridge on one of the only sunny days this month. I tried to do a panoramic shot, but I liked these individual ones better than the panoramic's I got.

perspective

Just though this was a cool perspective/color shot to share. Lovefest 08' San Francisco, just a tiny slice of the 15,000 person crowd!

apple time

Just some random pictures from apple picking last weekend. This is definitely my favorite time of the year.

everywhere you see..

This just goes to show that you really can find color schemes everywhere you look!

Complimentary

I saw this piece of graffiti the other day while walking along the train tracks near my house. After reading the homework assignments I had been thinking about different color schemes, and the red and blue in this really caught my eye. Then my sister and I took a day trip to Montreal, and after looking at our pictures the same red and blue scheme jumped out at me. It is definitely my favorite color contrast.

My Rainbow...

These are three of my favorite color photos. I saw an exhibit a few years ago in Boston of some artist that had done something similar this with spray paint cans and it always stuck in my head. I would like to consider this my favorite kind of artificial rainbow :)

perspective WK2

So here are my two favorite photos of the 15. I photographed a few different items before this one, but something about this first photo really struck me. I think I like it the best because it looks like it could be an advertisement for MaxMara. I like how the flash made the edge of the bracelet look like it was on fire, and how it illuminates the middle of the bracelet on the black table. The second photo I also liked. The pictures look very different even though they were taken about 5 seconds apart. By taking the picture from underneath the light source in the second picture you get a much better perspective on the bracelet and its surroundings. I like in the second one how the flash also had a huge reflection on the table and the bracelet. Overall, nothing too professional here, just some fun in my living room.

New beginnings!

I thought this would be a good post for me. I got a new camera today (Nikon COOLPIX) which will be handy because its very tiny and easy to slide in my pocket for pictures on the go. Along with a new camera I got a new dog! Her name is Bodhi and she is turning out to be quite photogenic. :)
